Theae maps indicate the areas from which the attorney's clients who were defendants came. They do not indicate whether the attorney or the client did the travelling. Since most attorneys had more plaintiff than defendant clients, the maps only indicate the minimum range of a lawyer's activity, not the actual range.
Assignment to an individual county is based not only on listed parish of residence of defendants, but also on consistent marginations and other factors.
The maps and the overall list are working documents and will be updated from time to time.
